John 15:9-11

Gospel for today according to Saint John

John 15:9-11

Jesus said to his disciples:

"As the Father loves me, so I also love you.

Remain in my love.

If you keep my commandments, you will remain in my love,

just as I have kept my Father's commandments

and remain in his love.

"I have told you this so that

my joy might be in you and

your joy might be complete."

Our response to this love is crucial; by keeping His commandments, we can experience a fulfilling and joyful life. The joy that Jesus speaks of isn't just a fleeting feeling but a deep-seated peace that comes from living in harmony with His teachings. Moreover, the call to obedience is not a burdensome duty, but an invitation to embrace a loving relationship with Jesus. When we follow His guidance, we unlock profound joy and peace that transcends worldly challenges.
