He 'stopped and ordered that he be brought to him.' Imagine the Lord of the universe stopping His journey for one man, amidst a bustling crowd, because of his persistent faith! This isn't just a physical healing; it's a profound lesson in divine attentiveness. Then Jesus asks, 'What do you want me to do for you?' It seems like an obvious question for a blind man, but I think it’s Jesus inviting us to articulate our deepest needs, to be honest and specific in our prayers. The man's simple reply, 'Lord, please let me see,' was a direct expression of his desire. And the response? 'Have sight; your faith has saved you.' This isn't just about regaining physical vision; it’s about spiritual sight, about being 'saved' in a holistic sense. His faith wasn't just a hope; it was an active trust that moved Jesus to act. This passage powerfully illustrates 'bible power' – the transformative, life-changing power found in God's word and in Jesus Himself. It's the power to heal, to restore, and to inspire belief. The blind man's immediate healing and his subsequent 'giving glory to God' and following Jesus isn't just a personal victory; it became a public testimony.
