Do you prefer cash, debit, or credit—and why?

I’m a card girl because 🙈I’ll lose cash. I’ve even lost my debit card several times and my husbands debit and credit card. I don’t anymore as I have a purse (never carried one before) 🙃

Also I choose card because I can track the spending and lock the cards if need be. Cash for me is only if I know I’m going somewhere or it’s money I lan to spend on something specific.

Which are you? Let me know.

... Read moreFrom my own experience, choosing between cash, debit, and credit often comes down to convenience, control, and security. I used to rely heavily on cash but found it easy to lose, much like many people do. That's why switching to cards—with the ability to block them if lost and monitor spending through apps—felt like a game changer for financial management. However, cash still has its unique benefits. It can help reinforce budgeting discipline because when the physical money is gone, you stop spending. For planned expenses like a weekly grocery run or a night out, cash can be an effective way to avoid overspending. Debit cards feel like a middle ground since they draw directly from your bank account, which helps in keeping your budget in check and avoids debt accumulation. Credit cards, on the other hand, offer perks like rewards and building credit history but require disciplined repayment to avoid interest. It's also worth noting how having a purse or designated place for cards and cash reduces the risk of loss. Nowadays, many people use digital wallets and contactless payments, which add another layer of safety and convenience. Ultimately, the best approach might be a blend: use cards for everyday purchases you want to track and secure, and carry a small amount of cash for specific situations. Finding what works for your habits and comfort level is key. What’s your go-to payment method, and how has it shaped your money habits?
