This donburi restaurant in the CBD offers quality

@ryokudo.sg has a matcha bar called MATCBA. It is housed right inside their restaurant which specialises in donburi.

Their rice bowls are decent but what stood out more for me is actually their matcha lattes. They use pretty good quality matchas which are not too astringent and smooth tasting. If you prefer matchas with an umami flavour, you can try their Ryo matcha.

I tried their strawberry premium matcha latte which is not bad but after discovering that the matcha itself is of high quality, I must rather enjoy it plain without the strawberry syrup.

We noticed that quite a number of people just drop by to try their matcha lattes and do a takeaway.

I found the quality of their matcha exceptional—smooth and rich with balanced astringency, especially their Ryo matcha, which features an enjoyable umami flavor and a silky texture. It’s perfect for anyone wanting an authentic Japanese matcha experience in the city. The strawberry premium matcha latte was my first try, but soon I preferred it plain to fully appreciate the high quality of the matcha itself. They thoughtfully offer dairy and oat milk options, which adds to the drink’s versatility. The matcha lattes start from $6.50, making them a great choice for matcha enthusiasts or those new to this vibrant tea culture. On the food front, their donburi menu offers a variety of bowls starting at $14.90, including options like beef, salmon aburi, unagi, and their house special katsu don. I especially appreciated how fresh and well-balanced the bowls were, making them a hearty and satisfying meal. Many visitors I noticed tend to drop by just for the matcha lattes, grabbing them as takeaway which speaks to their popularity and quality. Whether you come for a full meal or just a matcha fix, Ryokudo's blend of authentic flavors and quality ingredients makes it a memorable spot in Singapore’s CBD area.
