China Southern Airlines: Singapore to Guangzhou

We didn’t expect that the flight we took has in-flight entertainment onboard. It’s a huge plane and it’s overall pretty comfortable. They even serve ice cream at the end of each meal.

But the flight we took back from Guangzhou to Singapore is a smaller plane and has no in-flight entertainment.

Food overall was okay. We paid around SGD700++ for a round trip on Trip.

... Read moreFrom personal experience, China Southern Airlines offers a mix of comfort and value for travelers between Singapore and Guangzhou. Larger aircraft on this route provide the convenience of in-flight entertainment, which really helps pass the time on longer flights. However, smaller planes lack this feature, so it’s good to bring your own entertainment just in case. The meals served onboard were fair, with a nice surprise of Häagen-Dazs vanilla ice cream at the end, which is a nice touch compared to many other airlines. For those curious about the service class, China Southern operates as a full-service carrier rather than a budget airline, so expect standard amenities such as meal service and checked baggage included depending on your fare type. Booking through third-party platforms might influence the total cost, but around SGD700++ for a round trip is reasonable considering the service level. Also, the airline offers a mobile app for managing your booking and checking flight details, which I found user-friendly. If you’re traveling frequently on this route, note that the flight experience can vary based on aircraft type and schedule, so checking aircraft information when booking might improve your flight comfort. Overall, flying China Southern Airlines between Singapore and Guangzhou is a convenient option with decent food and service quality for the price.
