🏯 Japan in a new perspective! Shine "Kyoto."
🏯 Japan in a new perspective! Shine "Kyoto" World Heritage from the sky. 🛰️
Let's see what's interesting about Japan's old capital, Kyoto!
Kyoto is one of the few cities in the world that fully retains its ancient tabular city plan (similar to China's Chang'an city).
You will see exactly rectangular streets across the city, making the city look very organized!
Nijó Castle:
Notice the large, walled rectangular area with ditches and green trees among the dense residential areas, Nijou Castle, a World Heritage Site and former residence of the Tokugawa shogunate!
Kamo River (Kamo River):
There is a main river running through the middle of the city, and a narrow line of trees or parks flanking the river, creating a winding green line, beautifully intersecting the grid city plan.
Mountains surrounded:
At the edge of the picture is seen the dark green areas of the mountains, which is one of the reasons Kyoto was chosen as the capital in the past (helping with the city's defense).
Kyoto is a reflection of the combination of its rich history (ancient city plans and castles) and the dense urban development of Japan that has preserved the remarkable green color of nature (rivers and mountains)!
