ในฐานะผู้ใช้สมาร์ตโฟนที่เคยประสบปัญหาแบตเตอรี่เสื่อมเร็วจนเครื่องทำงานไม่เต็มประสิทธิภาพ เรื่องกฎหมายใหม่จาก EU นี้ถือเป็นข่าวดีอย่างมาก เพราะจากประสบการณ์ที่เคยต้องนำมือถือไปซ่อมเปลี่ยนแบตเตอรี่ที่ร้าน หรือแม้แต่ต้องซื้อเครื่องใหม่เพราะแบตเสื่อม ถือเป็นภาระค่าใช้จ่ายและความไม่สะดวกอย่างมาก การที่ EU บังคับให้ผู้ผลิตต้องออกแบบโทรศัพท์ให้เปลี่ยนแบตเตอรี่ได้เองอย่างง่ายดาย นอกจากจะช่วยให้ผู้ใช้สามารถดูแลมือถือได้ด้วยตนเองแล้ว ยังช่วยลดขยะอิเล็กทรอนิกส์ซึ่งเป็นปัญหาระดับโลกที่หลายประเทศกังวลกัน โดยเฉพาะสมาร์ตโฟนที่ปัจจุบันหลายรุ่นถูกออกแบบให้แบตเตอรี่ฝังตัวและเปลี่ยนยาก ทำให้เมื่อแบตเสื่อมส่วนใหญ่จะทิ้งและซื้อเครื่องใหม่แทน นอกจากนี้ การที่แบรนด์ใหญ่รวมถึง Apple ต้องปรับตัวตามกฎนี้ จะเป็นการผลักดันให้ตลาดมือถือมีความยั่งยืนมากขึ้น และอาจได้เห็นการกลับมาของยุคมือถือแกะฝาหลังเปลี่ยนแบตได้ง่ายแบบสมัยก่อน ซึ่งเป็นสิ่งที่หลายคนคิดถึงและอยากให้เกิดขึ้นจริง โดยส่วนตัวแล้ว ผมมองว่านี่คือก้าวสำคัญที่สะท้อนการเปลี่ยนแปลงด้านเทคโนโลยีและสิ่งแวดล้อม คือการคืนสิทธิ์ในการซ่อมให้กับผู้ใช้ และส่งเสริมเศรษฐกิจหมุนเวียน (Circular Economy) ที่ช่วยอนุรักษ์ทรัพยากรของโลกได้มากขึ้น เห็นได้ชัดว่ากฎหมายนี้ไม่เพียงแค่เรื่องเทคนิคหรือผลิตภัณฑ์เท่านั้น แต่ยังเป็นการเปลี่ยนแปลงเชิงนโยบายที่มีผลกระทบในวงกว้าง ผมจึงอยากเชิญชวนเพื่อนๆ ที่ใช้สมาร์ตโฟน ลองคิดดูว่าจะเปลี่ยนแปลงเหล่านี้ช่วยให้พวกเราประหยัดเงินและลดปัญหาขยะได้อย่างไรบ้าง รวมถึงถามความเห็นว่าคุณอยากให้แบรนด์ไหนทำตามกฎหมายนี้เร็วๆ เพื่อให้ได้ใช้มือถือที่ซ่อมง่ายและยืดอายุได้นานจริงๆ?
