Losing Our Baby Lainey
Some of you may have already seen this, but I wanted to share it here as well.
Six weeks ago, we lost our baby girl, Lainey Bella. I went to the hospital with contractions at 39 weeks, just 2 days before my scheduled C-section and they couldn’t find a heartbeat. It was a cord accident that happened 2 days after a perfect NST and scan. I had a c-section, and we were lucky to spend a day with her before saying goodbye.
We are absolutely devastated, and the grief ahead feels immense. But we are surrounded by love and a strong support system, and that means everything right now. The outpouring of love from the genetics/healthcare/ & social media community, the kind words, flowers and gifts we’ve already received has meant more than I can express. It shows me the impact Lainey has had on the world that she didn’t have the opportunity to enter.
Thank you, truly.
I’ll be stepping back from work for a bit on bereavement leave. I’m grateful for the understanding of my community here as I take the time I need. It’s day by day.
I’ll be back. 🤍
