Losing 170lbs, gaining my glow back

I shared these pictures the other day and the lemon app said they went against community guidelines, but I want to share them with you all again—especially if you are struggling with where you are at in your own weight loss/health journey.

There are so many beautiful ways to exist in this world. When I look at the size of my body from two years ago, I don’t feel any shame. I don’t feel disgust. I feel pride. Because the women in the first picture you see had been in trauma therapy for almost 2 years and had gotten to the place where I could pursue a weight loss/health journey from a mentally and psychologically safe place.

Love your body and take up all the space you need! I won’t lie, existing in a bigger body was hard in so so so many ways, but I learned so much and grew so much. Ok am thankful to have been that woman who survived until she could thrive and put in the work to get there.

So, if you are on your own journey, keep going! But don’t forget about the inside…because YOU matter in every way!

Losing over 170lbs—here are my stats:

... Read moreLosing 170lbs is an incredible achievement, but what makes this journey truly powerful is the deep connection between mental health and physical transformation. Many people attempting weight loss often overlook the emotional and psychological aspects, yet healing from past trauma and building mental resilience are fundamental steps that enable sustained success. Engaging in trauma therapy, as shared here, creates a psychologically safe foundation that supports healthy habits without the burden of shame or self-judgment. This approach teaches us that loving our bodies at every stage—including the bigger sizes—is essential for long-term well-being. Taking up space confidently and celebrating your existence regardless of size is a radical act of self-love. This journey shows that emotional growth and self-acceptance can empower you to move from surviving to thriving. While the physical numbers—starting weight of 355lbs and current weight of 185lbs, along with corresponding clothing sizes—highlight tangible progress, the real glow up comes from inside. For those on their own weight loss or health journeys, it’s vital to remember that sustainable change involves nurturing both mind and body. Supporting your mental health through consistent therapy, cultivating positive self-talk, and allowing yourself grace during setbacks help maintain motivation. Sharing authentic stories like this one encourages community and reduces stigma around body size and mental health struggles. Incorporating gratitude for what your body has endured and focusing on holistic wellness—mind, body, and spirit—can make weight loss more fulfilling. Celebrate each milestone, whether it’s a change in clothing size or an emotional breakthrough. By embracing your unique path and remaining patient with yourself, the journey becomes transformative beyond numbers, shining light on your inner strength and radiant glow.
