As a massive fan of The Vampire Diaries, visiting Mystic Falls, Virginia, has always been at the top of my bucket list. And let me tell you, it did not disappoint! Stepping into Covington, Georgia – the real-life setting for the fictional town – felt like walking straight onto the set of the show. My first stop, of course, was the legendary "Welcome to MYSTIC FALLS VIRGINIA" sign. It’s exactly as you'd imagine from the show, and capturing that perfect photo op there felt like a true pilgrimage. From there, I headed straight to the Mystic Falls Town Square, which is actually Covington Square. This charming area is the heart of the town, just like it is in TVD. I loved strolling around, imagining Damon and Stefan walking these very streets, and popping into the local shops. It has that small-town Southern charm that makes you feel right at home, even if you’re secretly looking out for vampires and witches! No trip to Mystic Falls would be complete without seeing the Salvatore boarding house. While you can't go inside (it's a private residence!), just seeing the exterior of this grand, iconic house brought so many scenes flooding back. It’s truly majestic, surrounded by lush greenery, and you can almost hear the drama unfolding within its walls. Another absolute must-visit is the Mystic Grill! Yes, it's a real restaurant in Covington, and it’s decorated with tons of TVD memorabilia, making it the perfect spot to grab lunch or dinner. I loved soaking in the atmosphere, and the food was delicious too. I also found some other cool spots, including the various plaques and tiles dedicated to the cast members around town. Spotting the tile for "Ian Somerhalder 'Damon Salvatore' THE VAMPIRE DIARIES" was a highlight – it’s amazing to see how much the town embraces its TVD legacy. For anyone who loves The Vampire Diaries, a trip to Mystic Falls, Virginia, is an unforgettable experience. It’s more than just seeing filming locations; it’s about immersing yourself in the world you love and reliving those magical moments.
