I Live Next Door To Mystic Falls (see caption)

Mystic Falls Virginia is actually located in Covington, GA.

One the perks of living in Atlanta, GA is that I am able to visit all of the filming sites for popular TV shows and movies that were filmed here. This is also a con as well because when popular TV shows or movies are filmed it causes a lot of traffic or some of my favorite places are closed due to being used as filming locations.

I usually go to Covington a few times a year when ever there are Vampire Diaries events happening or whenever I want to grab something to eat at Mystic Grill. I love hanging out in the square to read and I also like meeting other fans.

I like sharing film site locations for people who don't have the luxury of paying for a tour. I have posted these below.🥰

One day I want to host a scavenger hunt for a group of people and give away one of my handmade Vampire Diaries tote bags to the winner.

Some locations are further out and you would need a vehicle to go see them.

Murder House/Frat House

- This was where the “Murder House” frat party took place when Damon was trying to teach Elena how to feed. Built in 1825, it’s the oldest house in Oxford.

Mystic Falls Sign

- They have info about the area and maps of filming locations for various shows and movies that have filmed in town. They also have a Mystic Falls sign near the entrance.

Vampire Stalkers:

- A couple storefronts south of the Vampire Stalkers store is the Pop-Up TV and Film Museum. It wasn’t open the day I was there but I got a picture of the other Mystic Falls sign in the window. Currently, it’s only set to be there for 6 months but that may change. The hours currently are: Monday and Thursday: 11:00 am – 6:00 pm and Friday and Saturday: 9:00 am – 10:00 pm

Forbes House

- Practically around the corner is the Lockwood Mansion. It’s set back from the road and behind a gate but you can still see it through the fence.

- Almost next to this house is the Southview Cemetery. Damon was walking away when he was dying.

- Go into the cemetery and go left. At the first small street on the right you will turn. Then before next small street you stop and you will look to your right and see “ Stephenson “ on a headstone, and you will see the two towers on the right where Damon was walking after he was bitten by Tyler.

Mystic Grill

Down the stairs by the entrance of the Grill is another common filming location and has been used in the Originals, also. There’s a small store called the Alley which is actually under the Mystic Grill. They sell some TVD things and Mystic Grill shirts among other things.

Twelve Oaks Bed and Breakfast:

2176 Monticello St SW, Covington, GA

South of the square, down Monticello Street, stands the Twelve Oaks Bed and Breakfast. Not only was it used as the one mansion in the show, it inspired the home in Gone with the Wind.

Where Stranger Things, The Walking Dead Vampire Diaries and Hunger Games were filmed.
