Things 🫶🏻 about going to college near the beach

Going to college near the beach is one of the best decisions I’ve made!! There is so much to do around the area. I love the beach shops, cafes, surfing with friends. Whenever studying gets too stressful I always like taking a break and going to the beach to tan, be with friends, take pictures, or just relax. The beach will always be my comfort place.

... Read moreChoosing a college near the beach was hands down one of the best decisions I’ve ever made, and I honestly can’t imagine my university experience any other way! It's not just about the beautiful views; it's about a whole lifestyle that truly enhances student life. If you're considering a college near the ocean, let me share some practical tips and deeper insights into why it's so amazing. First off, let's talk about making the most of your 'day at the beach.' It’s more than just sunbathing (though that’s great too!). I’ve found that the beach offers so many ways to de-stress and have fun. Imagine starting your day with a peaceful sunrise walk – perfect for clearing your head before a big exam. Or, after classes, gathering friends for a casual game of beach volleyball or just chilling with a good book. There are often local events, farmers markets, or even outdoor movie nights right by the shore. It’s a dynamic environment that constantly offers new ways to relax and connect. Then there are the 'beachy cafes.' Oh my goodness, these are a lifesaver! Beyond just getting your caffeine fix, these spots often have the most incredible vibes. Think cozy interiors with ocean-inspired decor, delicious local pastries, and the sound of waves faintly in the background. My favorite thing to do is grab an iced coffee and some avocado toast (or a muffin, if I'm feeling sweet!) and just unwind. They’re fantastic for quick study breaks, catching up with friends, or even finding a quiet corner to get some reading done away from campus distractions. It’s a different kind of energy, and it truly makes a difference to my mood. Now, for 'studying on the beach' – is it really possible? Absolutely, with a few caveats! While the idea of beachfront studying sounds idyllic, direct sunlight and sand can be tricky. My go-to is finding a shaded spot under a pier or a nearby park overlooking the ocean. Noise-canceling headphones are your friend if you need to focus, but sometimes the gentle roar of the waves is the perfect backdrop for concentrating. Just remember to protect your electronics from sand and sun! It’s less about doing your entire thesis directly in the sand and more about using the calming atmosphere to boost your productivity. Living this 'beach lifestyle' near college truly offers unique perks. Beyond the fun activities, there’s a strong sense of community that often builds around surf culture or simply enjoying the outdoors. 'Learning how to surf' was something I never thought I’d do, but with lessons readily available, it became a fantastic way to meet new people and experience an exhilarating new hobby. The physical activity is also a huge bonus, keeping you active and healthy without feeling like a chore. And let's not forget the photography opportunities! Being able to 'take beach sunset/sunrise pics whenever you want' is pure magic. The colors are always changing, and it's a constant source of inspiration and a beautiful way to document your college journey. Whether it's a dramatic sunset or a soft, misty morning, the scenery is unparalleled. Overall, a college near the beach isn't just about the location; it's about the enhanced well-being, the vibrant community, and the endless opportunities for adventure and relaxation. It truly transforms the sometimes-stressful college years into an unforgettable, serene, and exciting experience.

Want that 4.0 GPA in college? Here’s how I make it happen: First, review all your class materials regularly—don’t just cram. Then, do a brain dump on your study guide to see what you actually know (and what you don’t). Finally, use Quizlet for practice—flashcards and quizzes really help it stick! H
