Making Friends In College : What Worked For Me

👍: Be Open an Approachable: The most importan tip is to start conversations. If you overhear a topic you like or a joke you think is funny people will just let you join in if you have something to add.

👍: Go to Campus Events: The events are free and they are so much fun you can get little goodies and meet people who are into the same thing as you without having to join a club

👍: Make the Most of Class : Join a study group or create one it will do wonders and you will build a connection with those people

For those shy about initiating conversations, simply saying ‘Hi’ can be a great starting point. Remember, everyone is looking for connection, and a simple greeting might lead to meaningful conversations. Stepping out of your comfort zone is essential when trying to make new friends. Participate in group activities, study sessions, or even try volunteering. Patience is key; find comfort in the knowledge that you will eventually find your community. Each step you take to be open and approachable helps pave the way towards lasting friendships, creating a support network that enhances your college experience.

See I love this. This is probably one of my biggest regrets, not making friends in college. I have social anxiety so I stayed too myself majority of the time, but I feel like I missed out on the college experience
