New Apartment Series Part XX: Packing My Closet ๐ฆ
Well well well ๐ Itโs about time huh? I know. I thought I would have so much more content by now and thatโs not the way that God wanted it to happen so here we are ๐ซถ๐ฝ
I figured with 7 days off, Iโd take 1 day to myself, 3 days to pack up the three sections of my current apartment, and take the last 3 days to clean, move into the new apartment and out of the old one. ๐ซ I go back to work on Monday and I have to be out by the 30th, so I might as well get it all done beforehand. ๐คท๐ฝโโ๏ธ
With that being said, today I chose to pack up my closet since I could tell it had the most stuff in it, especially clothes that are unfit for the heat in Atlanta right now. ๐ฅต It took 3 hours and it wasnโt bad at all; I still have a little bit of room in my small suitcases and backpacks for my bathroom stuff. ๐๐ฝ
Tomorrow, we tackle the bathroom and bedroom. ๐ฌ It seems like a lot but then again, I do probably have to go through some stuff to see if I even still want it. ๐๐ฝ
As this is the 20th post on this journey, I would like to say thank you to all who have been here since day 1, halfway through, or even if you just got here. ๐๐ฝ This series is single-handedly carrying and growing my page and Iโm forever grateful! Cheers to 700+ followers! ๐ฅ
... Read moreMoving to a new apartment can be both exciting and overwhelming. Effective packing, especially of your closet, is crucial to ensure a smooth move and reduce stress. Starting with your closet is often a smart choice since clothing and shoes can take up significant space. Begin by sorting your wardrobe into categories such as seasonal clothes, items to donate, and essentials for daily wear. This also helps you decide what items are unfit for your new locationโs weather, like summer clothes in a cold climate or vice versa.
Using suitcases and backpacks efficiently can save time and space. Place heavier items like shoes or books at the bottom of luggage to create a stable base. Roll clothing tightly to maximize suitcase space and minimize wrinkles. Packing bathroom items in small backpacks allows you to keep daily essentials accessible during the transition.
Allocating specific days for packing different sections โ such as one day for the closet, then bathroom and bedroom โ helps prevent burnout and keeps the process organized. Prioritize cleaning and moving in the final days to ensure the old apartment is ready for handing over.
Finally, documenting your moving journey, as shared in this series, is a great way to engage with an audience and provide relatable content for fellow movers. Celebrating milestones like gaining 700+ followers creates a positive feedback loop to keep motivated during the hectic move. Employing these strategies will not only ease your relocation but also enhance the overall experience of starting fresh in a new apartment.
