sugar cookie syrup at home for coffees!
I’ve been craving this all week and SO happy I finally made it at home! Best syrup flavor in my opinion & so easy to make, thank you @starbucks!! Stole the recipe from them but I did 1/4th of all the ingredients and still made two bottles full! 🍪 #lemon8partner
RECIPE•
• 1/4 cup white sugar, 1/4 cup brown sugar, 1/4 cup water let simmer for ~10 minutes
• Add 1/2 tsp vanilla extract & 1/4 tsp almond extract (I’d do a little less next time because the almond flavor is really strong!)
• Stir & let cool for 20 minutes before pouring into your glass container!
• Store in the fridge for up to a week & ENJOY! Sugar cookies lattes alll week long!!!
If you're a fan of Starbucks' seasonal drinks, making sugar cookie syrup at home is a delightful way to enjoy those cozy flavors anytime. This syrup combines white and brown sugar to give a rich, caramelized sweetness, simmered gently to blend perfectly. Adding vanilla extract creates a warm, inviting aroma, while a hint of almond extract brings a subtle nutty undertone reminiscent of classic sugar cookies. It's important to balance the almond extract carefully, as it can easily overpower the other flavors—as noted, you might want to start with less than 1/4 teaspoon and adjust to taste. Once cooled, this syrup can be stored in the refrigerator for up to a week, making it a convenient addition to your coffee routine. Simply mix a tablespoon or two into your favorite brewed coffee or espresso for an instant sugar cookie latte experience. For an extra indulgent treat, top with steamed milk or whipped cream. This homemade syrup is not only cost-effective compared to store-bought options but also customizable. You can experiment by adding spices like cinnamon or nutmeg to enhance the holiday vibe or reduce sweetness for a lighter option. Given the syrup contains sugar and extract ingredients, it’s versatile enough to pair with iced drinks or even to drizzle over desserts like pancakes or ice cream. Enjoy the process of creating your own Starbucks-style sugar cookie syrup—it's a fun way to bring seasonal café favorites into your home kitchen while impressing friends and family with your barista skills.
