Fitting up for heaven!

6/15 Edited to

... Read moreThe journey of fitting up for heaven is deeply rooted in the idea of being pilgrims and strangers on this earth, with a profound longing and preparation for a better, heavenly country. From personal experience, committing to this path requires daily dedication to growing in holiness and character, which in turn changes how we interact with our family, neighbors, and the wider world. One key aspect is self-denial—not just in a superficial sense but genuinely restricting our appetites and controlling ambitious desires to align our thoughts and feelings with God's will. This spiritual discipline isn't always easy; it demands honest reflection and often stepping back from worldly comforts or desires that might distract from our higher calling. Faith plays a pivotal role in this process. Without faith in God's promises, our efforts can falter. I have found that strengthening faith through scripture reading and prayer helps maintain focus and reassurance. For example, Hebrews 11:16 reminds us that those who have faith desire a better, heavenly country prepared by God, which can inspire us to prioritize our spiritual journey above temporary satisfaction here on earth. Understanding the manners and character needed to be suitable citizens of heaven motivates us to live differently. This includes striving to be holy as God is holy (1 Peter 1:16), which shapes our daily choices and actions. When our conversation and behavior reflect our heavenly citizenship, it can positively influence those around us, offering a living testimony of faith. The historical example of the children of Israel serves as a cautionary lesson; their unwillingness to trust God’s promises hindered their progress toward the promised land. Today, we face similar challenges, needing to overcome unbelief and risk-taking faith to fully embark on our spiritual pilgrimage. Ultimately, preparing for heaven is about making it our first business—being intentional in inquiry and diligence to achieve the fitness required for the company of Christ and sinless angels. This preparation enriches our earthly life with purpose and hope, transforming how we view our present journey and future destination.

Sis, fitting in was never the assignment
Sis, you will never fit in. And thank God for that. You weren’t built for small rooms or tight boxes. Stand out. On purpose. @SheDeservesPeaceCo #SheDeservesPeace #StandOutEnergy #SoftButStrong #MainCharacterVibes #WomenSupportingWomen

A portrait of the late actor John Amos, an older Black man with gray hair, looking thoughtfully upwards. He wears a striped collared shirt. Overlaid text discusses a show dedicating a storyline to honoring his legacy after his passing, calling it a 'tear-jerker.'
Do you think the tribute was fitting for a legend
If you’re watching Suits LA, you may have seen the touching tribute to the legendary John Amos in Episode 7. After his passing last August, the show dedicated an entire storyline to honoring his legacy and it was definitely a tear-jerker. 😢 In the episode titled “Good Times,” the show’s characte

A tall, overflowing pile of assorted clothing items, some on hangers, stacked on a mobile clothing rack. Overlay text asks, 'Do you trash the fitting rooms? Let's chat.' A pink flower graphic partially covers the center.
Do you trash the fitting rooms?
#letschat #lemon8contest Please don't trash the fitting rooms. It puts a stain on the skeleton crew at work. It leads to employees staying late. It's rude.
