A child died in hospital after being hit by a dump truck in the Overbrook area Wednesday afternoon, Ottawa police say.

The crash happened at around 3:40 p.m. on Presland Road, near Lola Street.

“Life-saving measures were performed on scene by responding officers, however the child was later pronounced deceased at the hospital,” Ottawa Police Service said in a statement. Very sad indeed,, rest in peace 😭
