Book TBR for the year 🩷

Let’s see if I can read all these books this year!

2025/5/15 Edited to

... Read moreOkay, bookworms! So, you've seen my ambitious TBR for the year, and let me tell you, just looking at it gets me excited (and a little overwhelmed!). This year, I'm really trying to make a dent in my 'to be read' pile, especially with all the amazing fantasy and romance releases. If you're like me, you probably have a never-ending list too, so I wanted to share some of my own strategies for actually tackling it! First off, prioritizing is key. I’ve already read some fantastic books this year, like diving into the A Court of Thorns and Roses series by Sarah J. Maas – absolutely obsessed! Knowing what I've enjoyed helps shape my next choices. Right now, I'm Currently Reading King of Sloth by Ana Huang, and it’s hitting all the right notes for a spicy contemporary romance. It’s good to have a mix, so you don't get burnt out on one genre. For my My Next Reads, I’m eyeing Archer's Voice by Mia Sheridan, a classic contemporary romance that everyone raves about, and Back to Where It All Began by Stephanie Root. I also can’t wait to get my hands on Onyx Storm by Rebecca Yarros when it comes out – I'm a huge fan of her work. These are definitely high on my list of Books To Read This Year. What helps me is setting small, achievable goals. Instead of thinking "I need to read X number of books," I try to focus on finishing one book at a time. Sometimes I’ll pick a book based on my mood – feeling like a dark fantasy? The Darkness Within Us or The Shadows Between Us by Tricia Levenseller might be perfect. Craving something lighter with a touch of magic? Maybe something from Aurora Ascher, like My Funny Demon Valentine or My Demon Hunter. The Pucking Around series by Emily Rath is another one on my radar – I love a good sports romance! And you can never go wrong with Lauren Roberts' series including Powerless, Powerful, Reckless, and Fearless if you're into high-stakes fantasy. I also have a soft spot for J.R. Ward’s Black Dagger Brotherhood series, with titles like Lover Dark, Lover Eternal, and Lover Awakened; those always pull me in. And who could forget Kerri Maniscalco's captivating stories like Throne of the Fallen and Throne of Secrets? Another tip: don't be afraid to put a book down if it's not working for you. Life's too short to force yourself through a book you're not enjoying, especially when your TBR is overflowing! And don't forget to connect with other readers. Seeing what my friends are reading or discussing books online often inspires me and keeps me motivated. What are some books on your 'Books To Read This Year' list? Let me know!
