Purchased from: Expedia

⭐️Overall rating: /10: 9.1/10

👍Pros : location, metro nearby, many food options nearby, buffet breakfast(additional charge), onsite restaurant and bar, onsite room massage services

... Read moreMy recent trip to Tokyo led me to the fantastic Shinjuku Prince Hotel, an excellent choice for a 4-star stay in the heart of the city. For the $260 nightly weekend price I found on Expedia, it delivered great value and convenience. The location is simply unbeatable. Being right in Shinjuku means endless dining, from casual ramen to upscale options. The hotel is practically on top of Shinjuku Station, a massive hub for JR trains and metro lines, making Tokyo exploration incredibly easy. Shibuya, Ginza, and many other areas are minutes away. Department stores like Isetan and Takashimaya, plus the vibrant nightlife of Golden Gai, are all within walking distance. The panoramic views from the Tokyo Metropolitan Government Building are also just a short stroll away. Stepping in, I noticed the clean, welcoming atmosphere. My room, specifically on the 23rd floor, offered breathtaking Tokyo city lights from the window! It was such a treat. The hallway view was so quiet, ensuring peaceful nights. My room featured a NICE KING SIZE BED, which, despite the original review's mention of firmness, I personally found quite comfortable and supportive after long days of walking. The room felt spacious and well-maintained. Now, the bathroom – a true highlight! The BATHROOM CHECK - SUPER CLEAN! was accurate. I was thrilled to find the standard bidet toilet, which is the norm here in Japan; it's a game-changer! The room also came with a Deep Tub, with luxurious products – perfect for a relaxing soak. Thoughtful touches like complimentary WATER AND SLIPPERS added to the comfort. Beyond the room, amenities are great. While I didn't opt for the buffet breakfast, I heard good things. The onsite restaurant and bar looked inviting, and onsite room massage services sound like a perfect way to de-stress. Regarding the 'cons,' the bedding firmness is a personal preference; I found it comfortable. If you prefer softer, a call to the front desk might clarify if mattress toppers are available. The 2 a.m. check-in policy is important: if you anticipate a very late flight, communicate directly with the hotel in advance to confirm your room will be held. Proactive communication goes a long way. Overall, my stay at the Shinjuku Prince Hotel was fantastic. It's a prime example of a great value 4-star hotel in one of Tokyo's most exciting districts. For convenience, comfort, and an authentic Tokyo experience, I highly recommend it for your next Japan adventure!
