what I do before I land in Japan!

... Read moreFrom my recent experience traveling to Japan, the preparation before landing was key to a smooth trip. I relied heavily on pre-purchasing an eSIM from NTT DOCOMO, which activated immediately upon arrival, allowing me to stay connected and update my family safely. This was a huge relief and helped me navigate easily right from the airport. One tip I highly recommend is figuring out your transportation in advance. I opted for the Airport Limousine Bus, which was very convenient for carrying luggage and provided a comfortable ride straight to my hotel. Speaking of hotels, I kept a screenshot of my hotel address stored on my phone. This was helpful in case of emergencies or if I needed to show the address to taxi drivers or locals who don’t speak English. Another personal strategy was managing jet lag effectively. I tried to stay awake during the day on the flight and immediately tried to sync with Japan’s time zone upon arrival. This really helped me avoid the common mid-day jet lag slump, making sightseeing and activities more enjoyable from day one. I also used a digital Suica card on my phone for all my rides, which made public transit rides effortless without fumbling for cash or physical cards. It’s worthwhile to set this up before or right after you land so you can focus on exploring rather than transport logistics. Overall, these little preparations made my Japan trip so much smoother. I’d love to hear if you have additional tips as well!

How much time did you give yourself from the time you landed to when you need to catch your Airport Limousine bus? I’m trying to book it, but don’t know how much time to give myself to not miss the bus.
