how it started: a loc journey

If you are looking for a sign to start your loc journey, you’ve found it! && if you’re looking for community, you’ve found a loc buddy too 💚

I started my locs in December of 2017. The photo journey begins in 2018.

Both times around I went with thicker triangle parting systems and I’ve enjoyed the thickness and volume of my hair. Both times I used the instant loc method and still maintain my locs with both traditional palm rolling, locksmithing, and crocheting.

My favorite part of the loc journey has been the reset phase. I still crave a big chop now and again lol. If I were to start over again I’d try micro locs.

I’ve struggled with postpartum alopecia with both sets of my locs. I’d say that and lint have been my biggest struggles.
