Things they didn’t tell me about being a mom...

1. You will never eat a hot meal again.

2. "5 more minutes" is a lie we tell ourselves.

3. Your heart lives outside your body.

4. You are much stronger than you ever thought.

It’s a wild cycle, but I wouldn't trade the madness for anything. ✨ Tag a fellow mom who needs to hear they’re doing a great job today! 🥂

... Read moreBeing a mom is truly an unpredictable and constant commitment that changes your entire life in ways you never anticipated. One thing I've learned, echoing the sentiment that "being a mom is so wild because you really just wake up every day and do it," is how daily life transforms into something both exhausting and deeply fulfilling. The image of never eating a hot meal again might seem trivial, but it symbolizes how motherhood demands selflessness—your schedule is no longer your own, and spontaneity becomes rare. Another lesson is how the idea of "5 more minutes" as a break or rest feels more like a wish than reality. Those small pockets of rest often dissolve into new tasks or urgent needs, reminding us that relaxation is something moms must purposefully carve out. Yet, despite these challenges, the emotional connection a mother experiences is profound. The feeling that "your heart lives outside your body" perfectly captures the deep love and protective instincts that define motherhood. It also brings emotional vulnerability, but through this comes incredible strength—often, mothers discover resilience, patience, and courage they never knew they had. What I appreciate most is the sense of community and validation among moms. When someone says ‘‘you are much stronger than you ever thought,’’ it’s a reminder of the shared journey and support. Tagging a fellow mom or sharing these truths can uplift others, helping every mom realize they’re not alone in the chaos and love of raising children. For anyone stepping into motherhood or struggling with the everyday realities, remember that these experiences are common. Embracing the madness, practicing self-care, and seeking support can make the journey manageable and even joyful. Motherhood isn’t perfect; it’s raw and real, but the unconditional love and personal growth it fosters make every moment worthwhile.
