OBGYN by Day, Single Pregnant Mum by Night

Nobody prepared me for how isolating pregnancy could feel after divorce. Everyone talks about the glow, the excitement, the family preparations... but what about when you're doing it without the support you expected?

The hardest part isn't the physical stuff (though carrying groceries while pregnant with a toddler in tow is its own Olympic sport). It's the emotional stuff nobody warns you about.

The way people look at you when you show up to appointments alone. The assumptions they make. The way celebration feels different when you're the only one truly celebrating - even when you have a partner who just doesn't get it.

But you know what I've learned? Your baby doesn't need a perfect family setup to be perfectly loved. They need YOU - and you're already enough.

To any mummy going through pregnancy feeling alone - whether you're single, married but unsupported, divorced, or just feeling misunderstood - I see you. You're braver than you know, stronger than you feel, and your baby is lucky to have you.

The family you're building might look different than you planned, but it can still be beautiful. ❤️

Have you felt isolated during pregnancy, no matter your relationship status? You're not alone in this 🫶

... Read moreNavigating pregnancy on your own after divorce is an emotional marathon that many don’t prepare you for. I still remember how different ultrasound appointments felt this time around – no one beside me holding my hand, just an empty chair where support should be. It brought a mix of grief and strength all at once, realizing that the milestones I once shared now needed to be celebrated independently. Physically, pregnancy is demanding enough without the extra help a partner might provide. Simple things like back rubs at 3AM or midnight snack runs become challenges I had to manage solo. The chronic stress, which we know isn’t ideal for fetal growth, was very real. Yet, what medical research affirms and what I’ve lived through myself is that love and presence trump the idea of a ‘‘perfect’’ family structure. For any mum-to-be facing pregnancy without a partner, remember that your consistent care and fierce dedication are what truly matter to your baby’s development. The bonding hormones released during moments of care and connection prove that a loving, present parent is everything a child needs. The journey might look different, but it still overflows with beauty and resilience. I’ve also learned the importance of building a supportive community around you – friends, family, or groups who genuinely understand your experience can make a world of difference. Sharing updates, celebrating little kicks, and expressing your feelings aloud help ease the lonely moments. It's okay to grieve what you hoped for while embracing the unique path you’re on. In short, your solo pregnancy journey, with all its ups and downs, is a testament to bravery. Your baby will thrive, not because of a perfect setup, but because of the authentic love and strength only you can provide.

"Mummy tired." that's how my kid greets me now
I owe you all an honest update. You called me strong. Brave. Inspiring. I leaned into that because it felt better than the truth. The truth is I was barely holding it together. And I think a lot of you are doing the same thing right now. Smiling at school drop-off. Performing at work. Then s

8 months pregnant and still hustling! 🙆🏻‍♀️
Some days, I honestly don’t know how I do it. I’m 8 months pregnant, with a 2.5-year-old toddler who’s full of energy, running around from morning till night. At the same time, I’m managing a company with nearly 20 staff, 5 vehicles, and 2 offices. I’m a wife, a daughter, and a funeral directo
