Funny Crochet Story 😅
My mother in law is extremely crafty, knows how to crochet and knit and do acrylic nails and just about any hobby you can think of. She’s great at all of it! She was thrilled to see me take an interest in crochet and was more than happy to teach me.
The problem? Well it’s not really a problem… My mother in law only speaks Spanish. I, on the other hand, only speak English. So when we talk, we use Google translate or my husband as our translator. Learning or teaching a craft is very difficult with a language barrier, but we’re doing it! Anyways, my last several crochet posts where I said I’ve learned to double crochet?
I found out it’s a half double crochet, not a double crochet. The “half” got lost somewhere in translation. So if you’ve seen my posts and thought, “This poor girl has no clue what she’s talking about.” You are SO right 😂
But the good news is I can now do a single crochet AND I know the term for half double crochet or half treble crochet. I’ve been working on slip stitches too but I think I need my teacher to check my work.
