I was honored to be a part of @Jim Kwik Limitless conference where leaders in the field of longevity and brain health and wellness gathered to help others to learn how to live their optimal lives.
I spoke on the science of happiness. Many of us walk around feeling as if we don’t know why we aren’t happy but happiness is different than joy. Joy is an internal experience and Joy is built into our DNA.
Joy is our birthright as human beings and yet many of use feel joyless. Happines is different than joy, happiness is dependent on the external situation.
I used scientific experiments on stage based on the Science of Your Happiness lab.
There is only one you and there will only ever be one you. So take the time to understand where you are losing joy in your life and then you will understand how to reclaim joy based on the science of your happiness.

Attending the Limitless conference really deepened my understanding of the delicate balance between joy and happiness, concepts I had often thought were interchangeable until now. Dr. Judith's approach, grounded in scientific experiments from her 'Science of Your Happiness' lab, revealed that joy is an internal, DNA-embedded experience, unlike happiness which fluctuates with external circumstances. Reflecting on this, I started to notice moments where I mistakenly sought happiness from outside events, only to feel a fleeting satisfaction. Embracing the idea that joy is my birthright and learning to reclaim it felt empowering. I tried applying some of the key insights such as Dr. Judith’s “Five V’s to Reclaiming Joy,” which helped me identify personal areas where I was losing joy—be it routine stress or neglecting self-care. What stood out was the experiential nature of the conference, where participants didn’t just listen but engaged with visualizations and exercises to internalize tools for everyday use. I found that consciously shifting focus away from external validation toward nurturing internal joy led to noticeable improvements in my mental health and overall wellness. Moreover, the serene spa setting in San Diego added a healing dimension, reminding me that environments conducive to rest and relaxation are vital to sustaining brain health and mental wellness. If you’re feeling joyless, taking time to slow down and understand your unique emotional landscape could be the first step toward lasting happiness. This holistic blend of neuroscience, personal reflection, and practical tools shared by leaders like Dr. Judith and brain coach Jim Kwik offers a valuable roadmap for anyone looking to enhance longevity, brain health, and mental well-being by nurturing the joy already inside them.
