Healing isn’t just about what happened to you… it’s about what stayed with you.

Some of us are walking around with childhood versions of ourselves still trying to be seen, still trying to be loved, still trying to feel safe. The wounds didn’t always come from strangers—they came from places that were supposed to feel like home.

Mother wounds run deep.

They show up in how you love… how you attach… how you overgive… how you question your worth.

They whisper lies like “you’re too much” or “you’re not enough” at the same time.

And then we grow up…

And those same wounds start bleeding into our relationships.

We choose people who feel familiar, not always healthy.

We tolerate things we should never have to endure.

We crave love but fear abandonment.

We want connection but don’t always know how to receive it.

But healing is possible.

Healing looks like: • Acknowledging what hurt you without minimizing it

• Breaking cycles you didn’t create

• Learning that love should feel safe, not confusing

• Reparenting yourself with patience, grace, and truth

• Letting God restore the parts of you that were neglected

You are not your trauma.

You are not what happened to you.

You are who you choose to become through your healing.

And the moment you decide to heal… everything connected to you begins to change.

You deserve healthy love.

You deserve peace.

You deserve to be whole.

... Read moreHealing from mother wounds is a deeply personal journey that often requires us to confront emotions and patterns rooted in childhood. I’ve found that acknowledging how these wounds shape our current relationships is an important first step. For many, this includes recognizing how unresolved pain can cause us to repeatedly choose unhealthy attachments or overgive in an attempt to be seen or loved. In my experience, integrating faith and spirituality into the healing process provides profound support. The belief that God can restore parts of us that were neglected brings hope and empowerment beyond self-effort alone. It allows a reparenting of the self rooted in compassion, patience, and grace, rather than harsh judgment. Practical tools like journaling can also help track emotional triggers and recurring negative beliefs such as "you're not enough" or "you're too much." Bringing these internalized messages to light is essential to breaking the cycle of trauma. Replacing them gradually with affirmations about safety, worth, and love reshapes our inner dialogue. An empowering part of healing is learning to receive love differently — understanding that true connection does not require self-sacrifice or fear of abandonment. This awareness encourages setting healthy boundaries and seeking relationships that nurture rather than drain. Finally, community support plays a crucial role. Engaging in groups or forums focused on trauma recovery, mother wounds, and self-worth creates shared understanding and encouragement. You begin to see that you are not alone, and healing is possible. Remember, you are more than your trauma. Healing is not forgetting but becoming the whole, loved, and peaceful person you were always meant to be. Taking one step at a time, with kindness and faith, restores your peace and purpose, inviting you to heal, reclaim, and thrive.

Toxic Positivity: “Just stay positive.” Support + Validation: “I know it’s difficult right now, but let’s focus on what’s going right and give space to what hurts.” 💬 💔 Sometimes we confuse encouragement with invalidation. When someone’s struggling, they don’t need pressure to “cheer up.”
