Replying to @user5035768967847 I had some questions come in about the dimensions of the ribbon chain garland, so here's what I used! The ribbon is two and a half inches wide, and I cut each strip to ten inches. I tried twelve inches on a different color, but the circles felt too wide.

Another mistake I made at first was alternating the velvet and plaid sides one by one. Instead, do two links with the solid side and two links with the plaid. That gives you the perfect alternating pattern.

I have the link for the supplies in my profile. This ribbon is already selling out in some colors and the quality is Amazing. I can't wait to pull these out each Christmas!!

Let me know if you have any other

questions ♥️

... Read moreCreating ribbon chain garlands is a fun and festive way to add a personalized touch to your holiday decor. The essential step is choosing the right materials—ribbon that is about two and a half inches wide works perfectly, and cutting each strip to ten inches creates perfectly sized circles that link well without feeling too wide or bulky. Trying twelve-inch strips may result in circles that feel too large for a balanced look. When constructing the garland, the pattern of links can greatly affect the overall aesthetic. Instead of alternating one velvet link followed by one plaid, using two consecutive links of solid velvet followed by two of plaid creates a visually appealing and harmonious alternating pattern. This technique enhances both texture and color contrast, giving your garland a professional and polished appearance. Quality of the ribbon is another important aspect. Opting for ribbons with excellent texture and feels durable ensures that your garland will hold up over multiple holiday seasons. Ribbons that combine velvet and plaid patterns provide a classic Christmas vibe that complements various decorating styles. If you are sourcing supplies, look for vendors offering good stock levels, as popular or seasonal ribbons often sell out quickly. Planning early to secure your preferred colors will help avoid disappointment. Moreover, the ribbon’s quality can dramatically improve the crafting experience and the longevity of your décor. This method not only allows for creative freedom in color and pattern selection but is also straightforward enough for beginners. Whether decorating your home or making gifts, ribbon chain garlands are an effective and charming way to enhance your Christmas décor. Don’t hesitate to experiment with other complementary materials like beads, lights, or greenery to further customize your garland and make it truly unique. Feel free to ask further questions or share your own tips as making ribbon chains is an enjoyable DIY craft that benefits from community creativity and support.
