SUPER BAO from BAO ER CAFE 🤤

Finally tried Bao Er Cafe after seeing it pop up on my feed so many times 👀 It’s a cozy spot with those nostalgic HK cha chaan teng vibes — warm, cozy, and filled with that irresistible wok-char aroma 🫶🏻

We went straight for their signatures and honestly, it didn’t disappoint!

🍚 Prawn Paste Chicken Cutlet Fried Rice ($10) – the chicken was so crispy on the outside but still juicy inside, and the fried rice had that nice wok hei flavour. Comfort food level: 10/10.

🍜 Signature Deluxe Hokkien Mee ($10.80) – this one’s rich and saucy, more towards the wet style with a strong prawn base. Loaded with prawns, scallops, squid, and pork belly — plus those crispy pork lard bits that were super addictive.

🍞 Kaya Butter Toast ($2.60) – simple but perfect! The toast was crisp, and the butter melted beautifully with the thick layer of kaya. The kaya was oozing out, though I wished the butter slab was a little bigger 😋

☕ 3 Layer Coffee ($4) – love the presentation with the distinct layers, and the mix of condensed milk + gula melaka added a nice local twist.

Overall, Bao Er feels like a hidden gem if you’re craving a mix of local and HK comfort food. The prices are pretty reasonable too. Definitely bookmarking this place for chill brunches or a quick dinner fix 😋
