habits to start NOW to be successful in college!

I'll be going into my third-year of college this fall. I'm super excited, especially because I already know what habits to build in order to be successful.

I've found that building habits NOW IN THE SUMMER makes it A LOT easier to continue the habits during the school year. If you keep up with these every day, then you're going to have a really strong and healthy routine.

It can be really difficult to build a new routine and adjust while at college, which is why i suggest building them NOW. Of course, you won't be able to build every single one. But going in with a few good habits sets a really good precedent for the school year.

Here are some other GOOD HABITS to BUILD:

💐 Making your bed every morning

💐 Staying hydrated

💐 Practicing gratitude in the morning

💐 Getting enough sleep

💐 Stretching every single day

Here are some other BAD HABITS to BREAK:

❌ Multi-tasking

❌ Eating poorly and not fueling your body

❌ Being late to things

❌ Sleeping in TOO late

❌ Procrastinating things (esp those that take 5 mins)

Practicing quick and easy recipes will be invaluable as college life tends to be hectic. Look for meals that require minimal ingredients and clean-up, which allows time for studies and socializing. Lastly, managing technology use is critical. Decreasing screen time can improve focus and productivity. Try to set boundaries, such as not using your phone for the first hour after waking up and the last hour before sleeping. Creating a habit of checking emails regularly will also ensure you stay updated with important college communications. By establishing these habits now, you are setting the stage for a successful and balanced college experience!

So my major in college was visual and performing arts with a focus of acting and my minor was history and honestly neither took a ton of reading. I took dance classes for fitness too. So it was very worth it to get credits while staying fit. But ya my acting classes took mostly actions some took writing papers that’s something that should be practiced. But even in history I didn’t have a ton of reading.
