Kingdom of ash
Here I go….I’m scared for my life😬#kingdom of ash #lemon8bookclub
Okay, fellow bookworms, if you're anything like me, starting Kingdom of Ash feels like bracing yourself for a hurricane of emotions! I mean, Sarah J. Maas has put us through so much already, and this is the grand finale of the Throne of Glass series. That 'scared for my life' feeling I mentioned? It's absolutely real! You know it's going to be epic, but also probably gut-wrenching. Before I dive too deep and get completely lost, I've been doing a little bit of pre-reading myself to mentally prepare, and I thought I'd share some insights for anyone else embarking on this journey or just curious about the final installment. Let's get into it! For those who might need a refresher or are wondering what Kingdom of Ash is all about without major spoilers, this book is the culmination of Aelin Galathynius's incredible journey to reclaim her throne and save her world from Maeve and Erawan. It's truly an epic fantasy war, bringing together all the beloved characters for one final, desperate stand. Expect massive battles, heartbreaking sacrifices, and intense magic. It’s the kind of book where every chapter feels like life or death, and the stakes couldn't be higher for not just Aelin, but everyone she loves and her entire continent. No wonder I'm nervous! One of the first things I always check with a big fantasy novel, especially a finale, is the page count. And let me tell you, Kingdom of Ash is a commitment! Depending on the edition, you're looking at anywhere from 980 to over 1100 pages. Yes, you read that right – it's a behemoth! But honestly, after everything these characters have been through, I wouldn't want it any other way. Every page is packed with action, emotion, and intricate plotlines, so while it's long, it's definitely worth every moment. Prepare for some serious reading sessions and maybe a few emotional breakdowns! Speaking of beloved characters, two names that popped up a lot when I was looking into what people are curious about are Lorcan Salvaterre and Lysandra. Lorcan Salvaterre is, of course, the Fae warrior who starts out as one of Maeve’s Fae warriors and later becomes profoundly loyal to Elide Lochan and the cause. His journey is one of redemption and unwavering devotion, and he's known for his fierce protectiveness and dark, brooding charm. He's a character you grow to love despite his initial gruffness. Then there's Lysandra, the shape-shifting courtesan who becomes one of Aelin's most trusted friends and allies. Her loyalty, bravery, and willingness to sacrifice everything for those she cares about are truly inspiring. She's a force to be reckoned with, especially in her ghost leopard form, and her wit is always a highlight. Both of these characters play crucial roles in the unfolding war and have some of the most compelling arcs in the series, adding so much depth to the story beyond Aelin's personal quest. So, as I take a deep breath and turn to the next page, I'm armed with a little more context and a lot more excitement (and yes, still some fear!). If you've read Kingdom of Ash already, no spoilers please! But I'd love to hear your spoiler-free thoughts – what was your biggest takeaway, or what character moment stood out to you? For those of you just starting like me, good luck! We're in this epic journey together. Wish me luck for the battles ahead!

Welcome! So excited to see more from you in the future💛
