3. Add to a container or ice cube holder and freeze for 3-5 hours
As a dog owner who loves keeping my furry friend happy and healthy, I found this frozen pumpkin and blueberry treat recipe to be a perfect summer indulgence. Using plain whole milk yogurt, 100% pure pumpkin puree, and freshly frozen blueberries ensures that the treats are free from artificial sweeteners, flavors, and preservatives. This is crucial because many commercial dog treats contain unwanted additives that can affect pets' health. When making these treats, I added just a spoonful of water to the yogurt and pumpkin mixture to help achieve a smooth blend. You can choose to either crush the blueberries slightly for a burst of flavor in every bite or leave them whole for a fun texture. Pouring the mix into ice cube trays works great for portion control and easy serving. Frozen treats like these are ideal for cooling down your dog after active playtime at the park or a hot day outside. The natural antioxidants in blueberries combined with the digestive benefits of pumpkin make this a wholesome snack supporting your dog's immune system and gut health. One tip is to use organic and freshly frozen blueberries if possible, picked at peak ripeness, as I did. This keeps the taste fresh and maximizes nutrient content. The treats can be stored in the freezer for several weeks, making it convenient to have a healthy snack ready at all times. Overall, this recipe is a fantastic way to treat your dog with natural ingredients you can trust. My dog loved the taste and eagerly waited for the frozen delight after every play session. I highly recommend this DIY frozen treat as a wholesome alternative to store-bought snacks with questionable ingredients.
