... Read moreCooking a steak to medium well or well done without it turning dry can be challenging but totally achievable with the right approach. From my experience, the key lies in controlling the cooking temperature and timing carefully. Using a cast iron skillet or grill set to medium heat allows the steak to cook thoroughly without overcooking the exterior. It's essential to avoid high heat that burns the outside while leaving the inside underdone. Before cooking, I like to bring the steak to room temperature and season it generously with salt and pepper to enhance the natural flavors. Using a little oil with a high smoke point, like avocado or canola, helps get a nice crust. After searing each side for a few minutes, I reduce the heat and continue cooking while flipping occasionally, which helps maintain juiciness. Resting the steak for five to ten minutes after cooking is a must. It lets the juices redistribute, preventing dryness when slicing. For added moisture, some people like to baste steaks with butter and garlic during the last cooking phase. Pairing your steak with simple, high-protein sides makes a satisfying meal. Grilled vegetables or a fresh salad work great for balance. This approach suits easy home cooking while delivering delicious, tender steak every time. I highly recommend experimenting with different cooking methods and steaks cuts to find your perfect match for medium well to well done perfection.
