Cleaning my depression room🍋💋🤍
Pls don’t judge and after watching this video I realised that I really should’ve recycled those cans. I need to work harder on being nice to the earth 🌍🤍
Cleaning a room when you’re feeling depressed can feel overwhelming, but I’ve found that breaking the task into very small, manageable steps can really help. For example, starting with something simple like recycling cans not only declutters but also gives a sense of accomplishment and contribution to the earth, which feels good emotionally. If you struggle with motivation, try setting a timer for just five or ten minutes and commit to cleaning during that time. Sometimes, short bursts are easier to handle and can build momentum. Also, acknowledging your feelings is important; it’s okay to have a 'depression room' where things are messy as you work through your emotions. Instead of judging yourself harshly, be gentle and recognize any progress. I’ve noticed that combining cleaning with positive self-talk and focusing on how a clean environment improves my mood can make a difference. Lastly, if you have ADHD or other challenges, creating a checklist of small tasks can help keep you focused and reduce anxiety about cleaning. Remember, it’s about progress, not perfection, and each step you take is a win for your mental health and your space.
