Also, acknowledging your feelings is important; it’s okay to have a 'depression room' where things are messy as you work through your emotions. Instead of judging yourself harshly, be gentle and recognize any progress. I’ve noticed that combining cleaning with positive self-talk and focusing on how a clean environment improves my mood can make a difference. Lastly, if you have ADHD or other challenges, creating a checklist of small tasks can help keep you focused and reduce anxiety about cleaning. Remember, it’s about progress, not perfection, and each step you take is a win for your mental health and your space.
