People don’t talk enough about how hard it can be following a parent’s footsteps after they’ve passed #glioblastoma

8/27 Edited to

... Read moreLosing a parent to glioblastoma is an incredibly painful experience that leaves deep emotional scars. Choosing to follow in their footsteps—especially in a demanding profession like nursing—adds layers of complexity. From my own journey and conversations with others who have faced similar situations, I’ve realized how confronting grief while embracing their career path can feel overwhelming yet profoundly healing. Becoming a nurse after my mom, who also dedicated her life to nursing before passing away from glioblastoma, was both a tribute and a way to keep her memory alive. However, it meant stepping into an emotional minefield where every patient interaction sometimes mirrored the care my mom gave. There were moments of struggle with the fear of not measuring up and the constant reminder of loss. Finding support through community groups specifically for caregivers and those affected by glioblastoma helped me maintain emotional balance. It’s important to seek mentorship from experienced nurses who understand the unique pressures of carrying forward a family legacy. Self-care became a priority, as did acknowledging that this path, while hard, is also an opportunity to create a meaningful impact inspired by my mom’s dedication. To anyone experiencing a similar journey, remember that your feelings are valid and that your choice to honor your parent’s profession is a powerful act of love. It’s okay to ask for help, to take breaks, and to find moments of joy amid the challenges. Following a parent’s footsteps after glioblastoma brings its own healing, giving new purpose while cherishing their enduring spirit.

Healing from the things we don’t talk about 🫶🏼✨
There are some things we never said out loud — but our bodies remembered. The shame, the guilt, the anxiety, the exhaustion. It didn’t start with you, but healing can. This post is for the ones who smile in public but unravel in private. Healing is not a performance. It’s a quiet homecoming.

Let’s talk about Deity Work
I’ve been doing deity work for a while and people seem to over complicate deity work. As a Hellenic polytheist, we all get caught up in our life, but we don’t have to over complicate deity work. Deities want us to do the best we can and to take care of ourselves. All we can do is learn from them an
