Self-Improvement + Business/Career Audiobooks🎧📚
Recently, I made the decision to stop purchasing self-help & business/career related books after I realized I could listen to the audiobooks instead.
The main reason I wanted to do this is because I found myself having little time to read fiction and other genres for fun. Some weeks, I spend a lot of time on the road and I’ve found that listening to audiobooks is a great way for me to soak up some knowledge by learning a thing or two 🧠
Also, I recently discovered that there are a lot of audiobooks that come with Spotify Premium! So, I will be saving a lot of money too!
Don’t get me wrong, I’m a book lover. However, I think this is a system that works well for me. If there’s a book that I really loved, I will probably go out and buy a hard copy to read on my own.
The first audiobook I listened to was “The Mountain is You” by Brianna West. Definitely a good listen & I got through it rather quickly (at 1.5x speed of course 🫣)

Many libraries also offer free audiobook lending services through apps like Libby or OverDrive, which is an amazing resource for affordable wellness audiobooks. Don't forget YouTube, where you can often find narrated summaries or even full versions of older, public domain self-help classics, perfect for getting a quick overview before committing to a full listen. To truly get the most out of your audiobooks, I've picked up a few tips. Listening at 1.5x or even 2x speed can significantly cut down listening time without losing comprehension once you get used to it. Another trick is to keep a digital notepad handy to jot down key takeaways or actionable steps as you listen.
