How I edited & took this photo w/ iPhone!!!

This photo was taken with an iPhone 13📱

Camera changes: most compatible format, Apple Pro Raw, turn the grid on, and change photo style to rich contrast.

Steps: Settings⇢Camera⇢Format⇢most compatible & apple pro raw

• Repeat the same steps, but instead of format, scroll down to composition and turn the grid on. Then scroll down below to photo capture, select photo style, then select rich contrast.

Capturing the image: adjust the exposure depending on your lighting, turn the raw image off, set the zoom to 2x, flip the phone upside down and make sure grid lines are lined up with the vehicle, and capture the image.

Editing: I edited using Adobe Lightroom. I used the recommended preset and then made adjustments to the hue, luminosity, and saturation of the yellow to make it stand out more. The filter style is called modern 8.

⇢ hue: -34, luminous:+17, saturation: -31 (color, select color mix, then select yellow)

... Read moreHey photo lovers! Ever feel like your iPhone photos just aren't hitting that 'wow' factor, even after trying to snap them just right? I totally get it! For a while, I was just pointing and shooting, but unlocking the potential of my iPhone camera settings completely changed my photography game. I'm talking about getting those rich, vibrant shots, like that recent yellow camper van photo I shared, straight from my phone! One of the first things I learned to really wrap my head around was the 'High Efficiency' versus 'Most Compatible' formats. You might have seen these options in your iPhone camera settings and wondered what the difference actually is. 'High Efficiency' (HEIF/HEVC) is Apple's way of saving space; your photos and videos take up less storage, which is awesome if you're constantly running out of room. But here's the catch: not all apps or older devices play nice with these newer formats. That's why I often stick with 'Most Compatible' (JPEG/H.264), especially when I know I'll be doing some serious editing in apps like Adobe Lightroom, or if I plan to share them widely. It gives me fewer headaches with compatibility issues down the line and ensures the editing software can access all the image data without conversion problems. For my camper van shot, I specifically chose 'Most Compatible' to ensure maximum flexibility during my Lightroom session. Then there's the magical 'Apple ProRAW' setting. If you're serious about editing, this is your best friend! Unlike standard JPEGs, ProRAW files capture a massive amount of image information, giving you far more flexibility to adjust exposure, colors, and shadows without losing quality. Think of it like a digital negative – it's uncompressed and unprocessed, meaning you have total control. It does make the file sizes much larger, so it's not for every casual snap, but for those special shots you really want to perfect, it's a game-changer. I always enable it for important photos I know I'll be spending time on in post-production. And let's talk about 'Photographic Styles,' especially 'Rich Contrast.' This isn't just a simple filter; it's a way to subtly adjust the tone and warmth of your photos before you even hit the shutter button. 'Rich Contrast' deepens shadows, enriches colors, and provides a stronger, more dramatic look to your images. It's fantastic for scenes with good natural light or when you want your subjects to really pop, like making that yellow camper van truly stand out. There are other styles too, like 'Vibrant' for brighter, more saturated colors, or 'Warm' for golden undertones, but Rich Contrast often gives a professional edge without much effort. Experimenting with these styles can really help define your personal photography aesthetic. Don't forget the basics either! Using the 'Grid' in your compositions settings is such a simple yet powerful tool. It helps you apply the rule of thirds, align horizons, and ensure everything is straight – crucial for a balanced and pleasing image. And getting your 'exposure adjustment' right in-camera saves so much work later. Just tap on your subject, and then use the little sun icon slider to brighten or darken the scene before you shoot. It's these small adjustments that add up to a much better starting point for your edits. So, if you're looking to elevate your iPhone photography, dive into those settings! Play around with 'Most Compatible' for broader use, embrace 'ProRAW' for serious editing, define your look with 'Rich Contrast,' and nail your composition with the 'Grid.' It's all about understanding what each setting does and how it can help you capture and create the photos you envision. Happy shooting!

It’s not always the amount of money you spend on equipment to capture the image. Sometimes is just about having a good angle, lighting, and vision of what you want to capture. iPhone photography has become so common that even professionals are utilizing it for shoots📱📸 As a practicing profession
