Divorce can be sad, scary, and hard. But it can also be beautiful.
I was 17 when my parents got divorced, and it came as a shock to everyone. However, I think everyone’s lives improved!
While there is an argument that it’s always better for children when their parents stay together, that’s not necessarily the case. Being in a toxic environment is not good for anyone!
I was fortunate enough to have extremely mature and caring parents who never let us see them fight. We had no idea they were getting divorced until they told us.
So, my dad moved out. Custody was 50/50, switching houses every week. I saw both of my parents become happier, healthier people. They are growing as individuals, and are able to do the things that the other one held them back from doing.
Now as an 18 year old in a 3 year relationship, this definitely makes me rethink if marriage is ever going to be for me.
