Lies I Believed About Divorce

Going through something like this will have you questioning everything… especially yourself.

I didn’t realize how many lies I started believing until I slowed down and really paid attention to my thoughts.

This season has been about unlearning… and coming back to what’s actually true.

Not what I feel in the moment. Not what fear tells me. But what God says about me.

If you’re in a hard place right now, you’re not alone in those thoughts… but you don’t have to stay there either 🤍💗

... Read moreDivorce can be an emotionally turbulent experience, often accompanied by a flood of confusing and painful thoughts. From my own journey, I’ve learned that much of the suffering stems from believing lies that our minds quickly accept as facts. For example, I used to think that my worth was defined by someone else’s choices, or that recovery from divorce was impossible. These thoughts felt like chains, holding me back from healing. One important step I took was to slow down and really pay attention to these thoughts rather than pushing them away. I realized many were based on fear or temporary feelings rather than truth. Replacing these lies with affirmations grounded in spiritual beliefs helped me regain strength. For instance, understanding that God’s love isn’t conditional on my relationship status gave me comfort and hope. Healing also requires patience. I believed I had to have everything figured out immediately, but embracing the idea of taking one day at a time was liberating. It’s okay to still be unlearning and healing, and acknowledging that progress isn’t linear can alleviate self-imposed pressure. If you’re currently struggling, know that you’re not alone in these thoughts. Surrounding yourself with supportive communities, whether through hashtags like #healingjourney or #positivethinking, can also provide encouragement. Remember, this painful season is not the end of your story; it’s a chapter for growth and rediscovery of your true worth.

That’s me on the left and my neighbor Tammy on the right as kids. 🤍 What most people didn’t see was how much I struggled in school. I sat in special reading classes because I just couldn’t read like my peers. And somewhere along the way, I started believing the lie: “You’re not enough.” I

Sometimes the hardest person to see the way God sees is ourselves. We focus on our flaws, our failures, our scars, and our past. But when God looks at you, He sees someone He created with purpose, redeemed by grace, and loved beyond measure. You are not what you’ve been through. You are not

I didn’t grow up in peace. I grew up in a home filled with addiction, abuse, and fear — and worse, God and the Bible were used as tools of control. Scripture was twisted to shame and silence us. I was taught to be afraid of God instead of loved by Him. Fear was masked as holiness. It took years for

✨Faith That Believed Before Seeing
Sometimes God asks us to trust Him before we see the miracle. In John 4:46–54, a desperate father came to Jesus believing He had to be present to heal his son. But Jesus simply spoke the words, "Go, your son will live." The man believed Jesus and started the journey home. Along the way,
