CHRISTMAS IN PHILLY ✨
Philly is home to me, and also some of the coolest Christmas must-sees!
🎄 Christmas Village - Christmas Village in Philadelphia
bundle up, you’ll be outside! there’s so many things to do here and it’s right in the heart of the city! decorations all over, tons of yummy food, ice skating, and even things for the kids.
🎄Longwood Gardens - Longwood Gardens
One of the best light shows i’ve ever been to. The place is HUGE. they have little stops along the way for food and hot cocoa. Some of this is also an indoor walk thru, but make sure to dress warm!
🎄 Peddler’s Village - Peddler's Village
Every season they host a competition. This year was gingerbreads! Throughout the village they’ll have people’s gingerbreads all over, along with their annual Christmas lights! Tons of cute stores and even a couple restaurants. this one’s cool all year.

It's true, Christmas in Philadelphia is truly magical, and as someone who calls this city home, I absolutely love experiencing all the holiday cheer! Beyond the initial highlights, I've got a few more tips and details to help you make the most of your festive adventures in Philly. First up, the Christmas Village in Philadelphia always tops my list. You really do need to bundle up, but it's totally worth it! Imagine strolling through a bustling European-style market, right in the heart of the city, nestled between Love Park and Philadelphia City Hall. The OCR mentioned the Ferris wheel, and it’s a must-do for incredible views of the city lights – especially at night! With over 120+ vendors, you'll find everything from unique handcrafted gifts to delicious German bratwurst and warm glühwein. My personal tip? Go on a weekday evening if you can to avoid some of the weekend crowds, and definitely try the chimney cakes! While the article doesn't specifically mention a dedicated "philadelphia eagles christmas village collection," you might be surprised to find some local Philly-themed Christmas ornaments or Eagles gear among the diverse offerings. It's a true celebration of all things festive and Philly! Next, a visit to Longwood Gardens for their dazzling Christmas display is an absolute must-see, and it's unlike anything else. The OCR highlighted the "dazzling light show with illuminated trees, a fountain, and icicle lights," and it's even more breathtaking in person. This place is truly immense, so plan to spend a few hours exploring. While some areas are indoors (providing a warm escape!), a significant portion is outside, so those warm layers are essential. Make sure to check their website for specific admission prices and dates (typically running from late November to early January), as tickets often sell out well in advance, especially for weekend evenings. The hot cocoa stops are perfectly placed to warm you up as you wander through the illuminated wonderland in Kennett Square. And don't forget Peddler's Village in Lahaska! While it's charming year-round, Christmas transforms it into a fairytale. The annual Gingerbread House Competition is a highlight, as mentioned in the OCR. Walking through the village and admiring all the intricate gingerbreads creations is fantastic – it's free and always inspires awe! Beyond the gingerbread, the village itself is adorned with millions of lights, featuring a beautifully decorated tree and even a festive sleigh for photo ops. With over 60+ shops, it's a great place to find unique gifts, from artisanal crafts to boutique clothing. I love popping into the different stores and then grabbing a bite at one of their cozy restaurants. It's definitely a spot where you can spend an entire afternoon or evening just soaking up the holiday spirit. To truly celebrate an amazing Christmas in Philadelphia, remember that parking downtown can be tricky, so consider public transport or ride-sharing. Also, keep an eye out for other festive events like the Macy's Christmas Light Show at Wanamaker Building or the Rothman Orthopaedics Ice Rink at Dilworth Park if you want even more "things to do in Philadelphia at Christmas" beyond these fantastic three. Happy holidays!

I’m also from Philadelphia born and raised. I’m now living an hour outside of Philadelphia.
