parenting hot takes

It should be illegal to not vaccinate your kids.

All children should legally have to have yearly or bi-yearly physical checkups and mental health checkups (not just public school or sports kids)

Not all playgrounds need to cater to toddlers. Risky play is important.

All expecting parents should have to take a parenting class where they learn about evidence based parenting methods, baby and child safety, car seat installation, basic child first aid, bathing babies, feeding babies and children, emotional regulation, ect ... and anything foster parents have to learn.

Spanking should legally be classified as abuse and thus be illegal.

If you can't handle a disabled kid or support an Igbtqia+ kid (heavy on the t), you shouldn't have kids.

People who don't like gentle parenting are bad parents (and/or don't know what it is).

the only one i semi-disagree with is all playgrounds not needing to cater to toddlers😭 they *should* all have things for toddlers as well as older kids because while risky play is developmentally important, it’s good for older kids with little siblings. if my daughter wants to play with her baby sibling, i’d want safe, toddler friendly equipment. but the simple solution would be to find a park that has that🤷🏽‍♀️
