Disability advocacy ✨
2024 has been filled with over 186 medical appointments, which means over 50% of my year has been spent in hospitals and medical clinics. My 2025 resolution is more days out of the doctor's office than in it. We often hear 'the body remembers the score' when it comes to trauma, which it certainly does... it also remembers the good things, which is what I'm hoping to fill more of my days with. 🥺❤️🩹 #potssyndrome #tbisurvivor #2025resolutions #braininjurysurvivor #postconcussionsyndrome
Disability advocacy is an essential part of empowering those living with chronic illnesses and disabilities. As individuals navigate their medical appointments and treatment plans, they often face emotional and physical challenges that impact their daily lives. Support networks, including forums and community groups, provide a space to share experiences similar to #potssyndrome and #braininjurysurvivor, fostering resilience and hope. Incorporating strategies to lift spirits beyond medical appointments is crucial. Simple activities like exploring nature, practicing self-care, and pursuing hobbies can contribute immensely to emotional well-being. Moreover, setting realistic resolutions for the coming year can provide motivation and direction. The conversations around #2025resolutions encourage personal growth and recovery journeys, emphasizing the importance of celebrating small victories along the way. Understanding trauma and its effects on our bodies can be an eye-opening experience for many. Integrating mindfulness and therapeutic practices helps in processing these experiences, creating a more balanced approach to health and lifestyle. The journey is not just about surviving but living fulfilled lives despite challenges, fostering an environment of advocacy where everyone's voice is heard and respected.
