Raising Boys — a diary 🖤
There are definitely things I’d do differently with experience… But honestly? There are many things I’d confidently do all over again 🖤
Even the things people warned me about — bc motherhood becomes a lot lighter when you choose your battles, care less about judgement & always, always do what’s best for YOUR FAMILY!!
What about you? What would you do again? Any of these hit hard for you?!

Raising boys in rapid succession is a whirlwind experience that brings both challenges and immense joy. From my own journey and what resonates with others, having children close in age truly creates a special sibling bond and an active household dynamic. One thing that stands out is the value of choosing battles wisely. For example, not stressing over keeping kids dressed at home or micromanaging every meltdown can make daily life much smoother and less exhausting. It’s liberating to let kids be themselves, including getting dirty and engaging in some rough-and-tumble play. Childhood is about exploration and sometimes figuring out boundaries through play-fighting helps build resilience and social skills. Sleep training also proved crucial for our wellbeing. Establishing a routine early on helped everyone get better rest, which made a huge difference in managing the demands of consecutive little ones. Prioritizing my own health—mental, emotional, and physical—made me feel more capable as a mom, and I realized that a balanced parent is the best gift for kids. Capturing countless photos and videos along the way helped preserve precious moments we often take for granted amidst the chaos. Celebrating milestones but not obsessing over them was another lesson—each child develops on their own timeline, and embracing that reduces unnecessary pressure. Ultimately, motherhood is a unique journey for every family. Focusing on what works best for your family, ignoring judgment, and embracing imperfection can lighten the load. These tips from personal experience can hopefully inspire moms navigating the beautiful complexity of raising boys.
