BUFFALO FOOD REVIEW: Is Wingnutz actually King? 🏆⤵️
We finally made the drive to the Kenmore Ave location to see if the Dave Portnoy 9.1 rating holds up. This place has been blowing up my feed, so we had to test it out.
The Order:
🍗 Mild Wings: Absolute classic. The sauce coverage was perfect, but the star is that signature breading. It stays crazy crispy even when wet.
🧄 Garlic Parm: These were the sleeper hit. Super savory, tons of parm, and massive size.
🍕 The Spread: Paired with a pepperoni pizza and spicy margs? Unmatched.
The Verdict:
If you are in the 716, you need to try this. It’s not your traditional Buffalo style (it's breaded!), but the crunch is on another level.

Having tried many wing spots around Buffalo, I must say Wingnutz offers something refreshingly different. The standout for me was definitely the signature breading. Unlike traditional Buffalo wings that rely solely on sauce for flavor, Wingnutz adds an extra layer of texture with their crunchy coating that resists sogginess. I found the mild wings perfectly balanced—not too spicy, but with enough kick to keep things interesting. Another surprise was the garlic parm wings. The generous amount of Parmesan cheese and garlic hit just the right savory notes, making them a great choice for anyone looking to try something beyond the classic Buffalo flavor. Pairing the wings with a pepperoni pizza and a spicy margarita, as suggested, felt like a complete, satisfying meal. What really impressed me was how these breaded wings maintain their crunch throughout the meal, which is a rare find in Buffalo wing joints. If you’re a fan of traditional Buffalo wings, I recommend trying Wingnutz at least once to experience this innovative take. Whether you’re #TeamTraditional or curious enough to join #TeamWingnutz, this spot is worth adding to your Buffalo food bucket list, especially if you’re around Kenmore Ave. It’s also a great place for a casual night out with friends who love wings but want something bold and different.
