Making a playlist for every year
Since 2019, I started making a playlist of new songs i come across and even add on songs that ive heard before but fit the vibe of the year. It’s been fun adding new songs and going back to the playlist of a different year and listening to it. It’s weird to say but actually listening to a playlist from that year actually feels like im being transported back to that time.
I definitely recommend doing this bc it helps with saving a song if you enjoy it and don’t know where to place it. It’s also just a nice thing to do for memories.

Creating playlists that encapsulate the essence of each year can serve as a remarkable time capsule of your musical tastes and the moments associated with them. Beyond nostalgia, this activity fosters a deeper connection to the music you love and helps track how your preferences evolve over time. Start by selecting a platform that works best for you, with Spotify being a popular choice due to its user-friendly interface and vast music library. There, you can easily curate your playlist by exploring trending songs and artists that resonate with your yearly theme. Additionally, consider incorporating songs that were significant in popular culture during that particular year. For instance, reflecting on top charts or viral hits can trigger memories linked to specific events. Don’t forget to include tracks that were significant on a personal level, such as songs connected to important life moments like graduations, relationships, or travel adventures. Compiling these tunes not only brings joy but also creates a sense of accomplishment. You might even consider sharing your playlists with friends or on social media to encourage others to embark on this journey. As the years go by, you’ll find that listening to elder playlists might transport you back to those unique times, evoking warm feelings and vivid memories. This simple yet impactful practice adds emotional depth to your music experience and shows how powerful songs can affect our memories and moods.
