This man you see here was once the Superman of his household.
While everyone else was sleeping, he was hustling.
He paid the school fees.
Settled the rent.
Bought the textbooks.
Filled the cooking pot.
And carried the entire family on his back like a human ATM.
He sacrificed his youth so his children could enjoy theirs.
Fast forward to today.
The same children he raised have labeled him a wizard and pushed him out of the house.
Now, the man who once carried their future is carrying bags in the market just to survive.
Funny, isn't it?
Nobody called him a wizard when he was paying fees.
Nobody saw dark powers when he was buying uniforms.
Nobody accused him of witchcraft when he was putting food on the table.
But the moment old age arrived and money became scarce, his usefulness suddenly declined. Baba became the family's village problem.
Life has a wicked sense of humor and can be brutally ironic for men.
A man can spend 30 years building a family and still end up as an unwanted visitor in the house he built.
That's when many men discover a painful truth:
Children are a blessing.
But children are not a retirement plan.
Men, pay attention.
Love your children.
Raise them.
Educate them.
Support them.
Pray for them.
Do everything a good father should do.
But don't sacrifice your entire future, hoping gratitude will pay your bills one day.
Hope is not a pension scheme.
While you're paying school fees, pay yourself too.
While you're feeding your family, feed your investments too.
Every income should have two destinations:
One part for today's family.
One part for your future.
Buy land.
Build businesses.
Own assets.
Invest.
Create multiple streams of income.
Because one day, your strength will retire before your needs do.
And here's the painful reality:
Some of the same children you raised with love may become experts at remembering your mistakes while suffering amnesia about your sacrifices.
Old age is difficult.
Happy fathers day
