January to Now! It’s wild what a body can do. It has never been about shrinking my body but loving it and taking care of me. This year I’ve gone from 185 in January to 171 today. So 14 lbs in 4 months. Do I care no 🤷🏼♀️. I am stronger healthier more confident than I ever have been. 3 lbs a month is literally like the most sustainable way to keep weight off. Oh I did this all by weight lifting, no cardio. Funny how I didn’t bulk 🫢. Anyway here’s to another month of celebrating and loving me. Now let me get back to work building programs for you 😘. #pcos #midsize #michiganmom #bingeeatingrecovery #bodydysmorphia
Losing weight and building confidence without relying on cardio can seem unconventional, but my experience over the past few months has taught me otherwise. By focusing on weight lifting exclusively, I managed to shed 14 pounds steadily—about 3 pounds a month—which I found to be sustainable for long-term health and well-being. One key takeaway is how important mindset is in this process. Instead of aiming to drastically shrink my body, I shifted my focus to loving and caring for it by becoming stronger and healthier. This approach helped me avoid common pitfalls like burnout or binge eating, which can often accompany harsh dieting or exhausting cardio routines. Weight lifting not only helped me tone my body but also increased my metabolic rate, making fat loss more efficient without the fear of bulking up excessively. This contradicts the myth many women fear about strength training. In fact, I’ve grown more confident and energetic than ever. Celebrating small victories each month kept me motivated and reinforced my commitment to health rather than numbers on a scale. If you’re managing conditions like PCOS or have battled body dysmorphia or binge eating recovery, gentle, strength-based fitness combined with self-love can offer profound benefits. Remember, it’s about your personal journey—build routines that respect your body’s needs and celebrate every step toward feeling better inside and out. Embrace gradual progress and let your strength shine from within.
