Consistency > motivation
From my own fitness journey, I've realized that relying solely on motivation often leads to inconsistent workout habits. Instead, making a commitment to consistency—even on days motivation dips—yields far better progress. For example, incorporating compound workouts focused on back, biceps, and core helps build strength steadily over time. Warm-up sessions are essential to reduce injury risk, priming muscles with dynamic stretches before heavier exercises. Core exercises like dead bugs and bicycle crunches, though sometimes overlooked, play a crucial role in stabilizing the body and improving posture. These movements can be easily done at home or at the gym and only take a few minutes but make a big difference in overall fitness. In my experience, setting realistic goals and keeping a simple routine, even with short but daily sessions, makes it easier to stay consistent. Tracking progress, such as noting how many reps of each exercise you do or how long you warm up, also keeps motivation fueled in the long run. Remember, motivation comes and goes, but consistency creates sustainable results and a healthier lifestyle.
