Wouldn’t wish it on my worse enemy🙃

... Read moreDealing with Functional Neurological Disorder (FND) is an incredibly isolating experience. Over the years, I've come to understand that it is not just about the physical symptoms like seizures, tremors, or drop attacks, but also about the mental and emotional battle that happens daily. One of the hardest parts is feeling misunderstood by others, as FND symptoms can be invisible and unpredictable. From my own experience, the unpredictability of seizures and worsening symptoms can make everyday activities feel overwhelming, and the fear of collapsing or losing control is constant. Despite these challenges, I found that connecting with others experiencing FND through online support groups and forums helped to ease the loneliness. Sharing stories with fellow FND warriors creates a sense of community and understanding that medical appointments alone can't provide. It’s important to acknowledge that pushing through the symptoms without proper rest and treatment often leads to worsening conditions. Acceptance of the disorder and seeking professional neurological and psychological support can be crucial steps forward. Treatments now focus not only on managing physical symptoms but also on addressing stress and mental health, which can significantly impact the severity of FND. If you or someone you know is struggling with FND, remember that you are not alone. Reach out for help, stay connected to supportive communities, and advocate for your health needs. While the road is difficult and filled with setbacks, sharing our journeys brings hope and strength to keep fighting every day.
