FND can manifest with symptoms like dizziness, fainting, and seizures that sometimes mimic other conditions, making diagnosis difficult. For me, initial symptoms appeared in my late teens, starting with intense lightheadedness and episodes of fainting that disrupted everyday life. Many people with FND find themselves misunderstood, since the disorder is not caused by structural damage in the nervous system, but by a problem with how the brain and body function together. This often leads to feelings of isolation or frustration, as traditional medical tests may show normal results. Despite these challenges, focusing on self-care, building a support network, and seeking specialized neurological and psychological treatment have been crucial. Over time, I learned that advocating for oneself and sharing experiences openly can raise awareness and reduce stigma surrounding FND. Living with daily seizures or functional symptoms is incredibly tough, yet it’s important to remember you are not alone. Connecting with communities and resources for FND awareness can provide encouragement and practical tips for managing symptoms. My greatest motivation is to keep pursuing my goals even when my body breaks down. Accepting the changes while maintaining hope allows me to find moments of peace and strength. If you're facing similar challenges, I encourage you to keep fighting, reach out for help, and never lose sight of your potential. There is still so much life ahead, and with the right mindset and support, it is possible to live fulfilling days despite FND.
