Mid type body types

I’m someone who’s struggled with always being in the middle. I’ve never fit in with either side of being plus sized or skinny.

Most of my life I’ve gotten harassment on my body type. I even had girls in grade school tell me I would be fat and ugly forever. I recently went through people on campus telling me that I’m not plus sized enough to be considered to be “worried about since I’m not 300lbs so any harassment I went through isn’t valid.”

Which is horrible to say to anyone who was sharing their opinion experiences on weight struggle. I’m someone who fits in the middle type body type. I don’t fit in either category and people have made that apparent on both sides.

The original post was to try and build a community who shares similar stories and body types as we don’t get much media representation.

I want my page to be open to anyone who’s been through this struggle and to have it as a safe space. Both sides have its issues and are super judgemental in their own ways. I want my page to be a safe space for any one of any body type. My page isn’t for close minded people who judgemental people. Leave if you don’t like my content. I don’t have time or energy to deal with people like you.

It’s feeling like you’re too big for standard sizes but not quite big enough for the plus-size sections, leaving many of us in a frustrating fashion limbo. The OCR on some images perfectly captures this sentiment: being 'too skinny for plus-size' and 'too fat for skinny.' This unique position often comes with its own set of challenges. The original post really resonated with me because it highlights a common issue: the unique struggles midsize individuals face. We often get overlooked in media, making it hard to see ourselves represented. I’ve personally experienced comments like being 'too skinny' to complain about my body, yet simultaneously struggling with body image, sometimes even dealing with bloat that makes clothes feel tight one day and loose the next. It’s a constant battle with perception, both from others and ourselves. The constant invalidation, where our struggles are deemed 'not valid' because we're not at an extreme end of the spectrum, can be exhausting. This is where the importance of community comes in. Knowing others share similar experiences, like being told you're 'too thin for plus-size' but 'too fat for straight sizes,' helps to validate those feelings and combat the isolation. For a midsize woman, finding clothes that truly fit and flatter can be a huge hurdle. It often requires trying on a dozen items just to find one that works. My advice? Focus on brands that offer a wider range of sizes and cuts, and don't be afraid to experiment with different styles. More importantly, practice self-compassion. Your worth isn't tied to a clothing size or how others perceive your body. Embrace body neutrality – appreciating what your body can do, rather than focusing solely on how it looks. The desire for a safe space, as mentioned in the original post, is so crucial. If you’re a midsize woman, connecting with others who understand can be incredibly empowering. Share your stories, your frustrations, and your triumphs. We need to amplify our voices and create media representation for ourselves. Whether it's online forums, social media groups, or just sharing with a trusted friend, finding your tribe can make all the difference in navigating this unique journey. Ultimately, identifying as midsize isn't about fitting a new label; it's about acknowledging a shared experience and demanding visibility and respect. It's about recognizing that every body type, including the 'in-between' ones, deserves to be celebrated and understood. Let's continue to build a world where everyone feels valid and seen.
